Decision Making Visualization

The following exercise was given to a Reading client as a recommendation.  It is worth sharing!

———————————————————————————————-

This exercise presumes that you have already developed or learned a method of meditating and clearing your mind of extraneous distractions.  If you need assistance in this area there are many classes and instructors available.  If you wish, you may also contact me for more information.

 Step by Step

1) Focus on only 1 area of your life (e.g., career, relationship, spiritual practices, health or lifestyle choices, etc.)  Make a list of the choices and options that you are aware of.

2) Do deep breathing exercises and/or your meditation practice to clear your mind and center your attention.

3) Imagine a sky full of colored balloons.  Each balloon represents a choice or want in the area of focus.  There will likely be more balloons than choices you have listed; this is because there are always other choices we are not aware of.

4) Watch the balloons floating in the breeze.  Observe the colors and the qualities of the colors and sizes.  Do not associate any importance to any of it, simply observe.

5) Ask your Soul/Higher Self to help you to know what is Right/Best for you at this time.

6) Observe the balloons; which ones sink to the ground?

During this process, if you feel fears/thoughts of the mind interfering, breathe deeply, and on the exhale watch the wind blow through the balloons.  Ask again (as often as needed) for Soul Guidance for your Highest and Best Truth.

7) Step toward the grounded balloon(s).  If more than 1 has landed, step toward the one that attracts you the most.  Pick the balloon up; you may see words or images, or have a direct emotional knowing of what it contains.  THIS is your result; the choice that is Highest and Best for you to pursue at this time.

  1. Observe how you feel/respond to this answer – Relief? Gratitude? Certainty and acceptance? Fear? Overwhelm?
  2. If the balloon is blank or you have difficulty perceiving the information it contains, it represents a choice that you do not yet have enough information about. {see 8.1 below}

8) If you feel anything other than certainty and acceptance and a willingness to proceed it is indication that there is “clearing” work to do in order to proceed.  Sometimes feelings of fear and overwhelm occur because you are viewing the end result.  Narrow your focus.

  1. Acknowledge what you have received – “Okay, so if this is my Highest and Best Choice/Path, show me, guide me, aid me to take manageable steps in this direction.”  Within 24-48 hours something will shift within you or your life to aid you in pursuit of your objective.  {This step also is to be used if the balloon is blank (7.2)}

9) Offer up a prayer of gratitude and thanks for the assistance you have received.

 Still have fears and doubts about the insights you have received?  The surest way to resolve doubts about spiritual guidance is to act on what you have received.  If you obtain results, then it will solidify your trust in your guidance and your ability to discern true answers.  If you are not getting desired results it could be that you are misinterpreting what you are receiving.  Continually asking for guidance and clarification will aid you in refining this process.

Wisdom of Solomon – notes

My friend, Donald, keeps me apprised of new entries into the excerpts from the Readings of Paul Solomon.  Paul performed akashic readings in the 1970s & 80s I believe, and we have always found the teachings, “wisdom”, to be very grounded and insightful.  The following 2 pieces struck me as something worth posting here.  I apologize that I am not making reference to the specific Reading #, as I am sharing what Donald shared with me.  You can research further here:  www.paulsolomon.com

“There is a wisdom dwelling in you, a super-conscious, a higher intelligence that is of the nature of God within you. There is no other being, no spirit guide nor angels, nor other beings; that would know better what the highest guidance is for you than your own Higher Self.”

In light of this, it seems worth sharing that I have found it most helpful through the past 16 years to write out my thoughts (confusions, frustrations, dilemmas, wonderings) in the form of a letter to my Higher Self (and guides and guru as appropriate) or to speak aloud as I drive my car or take a walk.  This activity has ALWAYS resulted in clarity of what step(s) to take next, as well as giving me a feeling of grounding, support, strength, courage.  The process of writing/speaking requires focusing and clarifying one’s own thoughts.  Simply “thinking” something does not carry the same clarity.  I have found this clarity is essential to the process of receiving insight and spiritual aid.

Note: in the writing/speaking – I always ASK for insight, guidance, advice.  This, too, is a key element.
